My go to for a stunning arrangement of flowers is always Pip and Mike from The Purple Dahlia. The flowers are seasonal and grown locally…and every bunch feels full of flowers that have been loved and tended to from seed to bloom!

I have attended several workshops from The Purple Dahlia and thoroughly enjoyed all of them! They’re always in a great setting, whether at a local café or at the Purple Dahlia and it’s so cool to learn about the process of growing and drying the flowers we’re using. Pip is a great teacher too because I’m not creative or good with my hands at all but I’ve walked away from every workshop so proud of what I’ve made in that time with her beautiful flowers!

The floral arrangements by The Purple Dahlia are gorgeous. I love that everything is recyclable too. We had a beautiful dried flower bouquet done for a photoshoot for our business. It added a special touch to our branding.

Pip’s delight in bringing a love of flowers, floristry and gardening to others , is infectious. Her rationale of running her business on sound green principles is very appealing. She has a philosophy of environmental care which permeates every aspect of her business. The collaborative workshops she runs are a real treasure, She brings a wide range of people to the sessions and has a happy knack of communicating her delight in flowers and gardening which reaches out to enthuse her clients. The way she works is original, and economically reasonable.
My grandchildren loved the mother/ daughter workshops- Pip really started something in our household- gardening for a future!

I would like to say thanks so much for the workshop and help with my wedding flowers! The workshop was really fun and prepared us incredibly well for the day before when we made everything for the wedding. It was also fantastic that you could help us source flowers and some even from your own garden. The bridal party and my family had a really good time making the table arrangements and the button holes. In fact my Man of Honour made his own button hole and about half of the table decorations, he really loved doing it. It was also incredibly special to be able to make my own Bouquet along with some extra help from my mother and my friends.Even the Groom and a groomsman go into making button holes. I would happily recommend you to anyone who needs any sort of flower related thing, whether it be for a wedding, workshop or even as a nice gift.

Last year the amazing and talented Pip from The Purple Dahlia ran a bespoke kids dried wreath workshop at our home. Her communication throughout was outstanding and she came up with fantastic ideas to accommodate the different abilities of the kids that attended. The workshop was fun and engaging and the kids got to take home a lasting, special floral creation…and some new skills!

I have bought fresh flowers, dried flowers, flower domes, flower wreaths and more from the Purple Dahlia both for myself and for friends and family and I absolutely love every single thing I’ve bought. Each creation is made with such care and skill and is absolutely stunning. She has the most beautiful selection of flowers and I love brightening my house with them. Knowing all the flowers come from her garden and how they work to be as sustainable and planet-friendly as possible in all areas of their work makes it all the more special and makes me very happy to support a local Wairarapa business.

I have done 2 workshops with Pip and loved both of them! It’s such a lovely, creative thing to do with others and Pip is an amazing tutor with a flair for arranging gorgeous blooms. The dried flower workshops are great because you can take home or gift a floral piece to someone that will last for ages! Highly recommended!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your skills to anyone wanting bespoke flower arrangements for a special occasion
